Sanitation Associate

Summary of Position

Thoroughly cleans and sanitizes Production areas using cleaning agents and specific procedures.

Includes a regular routine of cleaning and sanitizing the following items in Production areas: all tables – top to bottom, sinks, packaging machines, floor drains, hoses, power cords, light fixtures, walls, door/handles, phone, scales, tunnel, cryovac machine, bagger, metal detector, blue racks, gray carts, bins, utensils, cheese slicers, trays.
Clean, sanitize and refill all dispensers in cheeserooms.
Empty, clean and sanitize all garbage cans.
Clean eye wash station.
Pick up extra pallets. Remove all debris from hallways.
Clean & remove items off of hooks.
Straighten & clean up labeling area.
Sweep & mop floors, including cheese room aisle.
Clean boxing room and locker room.
Dust & straighten sanitizers and shelves in storerooms.
Complete necessary paperwork to be in compliance with regulations and policies.

Understanding of SSOP’s and overall Sanitation Program.
Prior experience in a custodian or sanitation role in a commercial setting involving detailed procedures, thorough cleaning needs and the use of similar chemical agents.
Understanding and demonstration of proactive safety efforts to prevent injury and/or accidents to themselves or others.
Ability to read written procedures and instructions in English, and communicate information verbally and through voicemail to appropriate staff.
Basic mathematical ability to calculate liquid and solid measurements, verify and read information on scales and pricing equipment, and other related items.
Ability to use a pallet jack and/or hand truck to move heavy items for cleaning.
Ability to be exposed and working in cold temperatures, consistently walk/stoop/bend/stand, frequently use arms/hands/wrists/fingers, and lifting items ranging from 1 to 75 lbs.

Monday – Thursday: 7 pm to finish

The supervisor may approve and/or direct this position to come in early/stay late as needed.
