Our company is founded in the Queen Anne neighborhood by Mel Peterson, who served the local Scandinavian fishing community with imported foods from the old country.

Brothers George and Chuck Lyden purchase the company from their uncle Floyd and move operations to the Magnolia neighborhood. The brothers begin importing a wider variety of European specialty foods in response to growing awareness and demand.
1985
Auburn, WA
George and Chuck move operations to our current location in Auburn, WA. The state-of-the-art facility is designed to meet our operational needs and provides ample space for future growth.
2008
Moonachie, NJ
The family purchases a second facility in Moonachie, NJ to store, convert, and ship products arriving from Europe.

After growing up in the business and decades of working it, Brian and Laurra assume active ownership from their father George and uncle Chuck and prepare to take the company into the future!

We reached a major milestone- our 75th Anniversary! This is a remarkable accomplishment, and we are grateful for the contributions of our employees, manufacturers, and customers over the years. We are humbled to have made it this far, and we look forward to many more years to come.
